1. Key Properties

SAE 1010 Cold Drawn Square Bars are low-carbon steel bars that provide excellent machinability, formability, and weldability. The cold drawing process enhances the steel’s dimensional accuracy and surface finish, making it ideal for applications where high precision is required. 1010 steel has moderate tensile strength and good ductility, making it suitable for parts that do not require high strength but need to maintain good workability and surface quality.

2. Applications/Industries

  • Automotive: Components such as bolts, fasteners, and brackets that require ease of machining and reliable performance.
  • Construction: Small structural components, supports, and frames requiring basic strength and good formability.
  • Machinery: Parts such as shafts, pins, and bushings used in mechanical systems where moderate strength is sufficient.
  • Electrical: Conductive parts, connectors, and fittings that need good workability and formability.
  • General Engineering: Precision-machined parts for a variety of applications that do not demand extreme strength.

3. Certifications/Standards

  • ISO 9001 Certified: Ensures high-quality manufacturing standards and consistent production.
  • Meets SAE 1010 Specifications: Conforms to the Society of Automotive Engineers (SAE) standards for low-carbon steels.

4. Chemical Composition

  • Carbon (C): 0.08–0.13%
  • Silicon (Si): 0.15–0.35%
  • Manganese (Mn): 0.30–0.60%
  • Phosphorus (P): ≤ 0.040%
  • Sulfur (S): ≤ 0.050%

5. Technical Specifications

  • Yield Strength: Approx. 280–410 MPa
  • Tensile Strength: Approx. 400–500 MPa
  • Hardness: 120–160 HB (Brinell Hardness)
