1. Key Properties
AISI/SAE 4140 Hot Rolled + Peeled (HR+P) is a chromium-molybdenum alloy steel that combines excellent strength, toughness, and wear resistance. The HR+P process involves hot rolling followed by peeling, which enhances the surface finish, removing any surface imperfections and improving dimensional accuracy. This steel grade is widely used for applications that require high strength, impact resistance, and fatigue resistance, especially after heat treatment such as quenching and tempering.
